Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Scholars have found meditation elusive to define, as practices vary both between traditions and within them. This is the central space of the building where people gather for practice, and generally is a free plan, flexible and adaptable to different uses. To determine its dimensions, we can use the standard measures of a yoga mat, which unfolds fully stretched in an area of approximately 1.70 x 60 meters. It is suggested to leave at least 50 cm between the mats, to allow the free movement of users during the exercises. The room has a small platform or elevated area where the instructor or guide of the session is located, and also has with shelves and countertops where people can leave their ‘tools’ during the class (water bottles, towels, blankets).
The auditorium is a central and important space in the school. The auditorium will provide many students their first introduction to performing arts, both as audiences and as performers. An auditorium is a room built where people come to hear and watch performances (i.e. a theatre, lecture hall, conference centre, or religious building).

Communication is a fundamental need for human beings to sustain in the world. Having good communication skills play a major role in developing the overall personality or to make a person successful. The debate is a discussion on a subject on which several people share their different opinions that can be favourable or unfavourable towards the topic. In today’s competitive world it is very essential to teach your child about the outside world. There are numerous ways to make them aware of the outer world. Nowadays, children are largely engaged in technology and not getting involved in actual intercommunication. So, there arises the need to motivate your children to get involved and participate in debates. These competitions help them to develop self-expression. Debate Competition for students is very influential as it helps them to boost their confidence, remove the fear of speaking in public, develop critical thinking and also teach them, how to think and communicate under pressure. Students as a part of debate experience considerable advantages, whether they are part of school debate teams or is a member of a social or political club. The main aspiration of being a part of the debate is to convey yourself in a concise way so that people around you understand your point of view and your thought process.
In India, 10 to 15% of children who attend school have asthma. It is a fact your child spends between six to seven hours of their day at school in someone else’s care. Schools should educate and train teachers to act fast at the onset of asthma symptoms or an asthma attack. Here’s why parents need to ensure that their child’s school is equipped with an asthma action plan: Asthma attacks require swift action An asthma attack always requires medical attention. By educating the right people and being prepared for asthma attacks, you can minimize the severity of your child’s asthma attacks and keep your kids safe at school. A minor asthma attack can usually be treated with the rescue inhaler on hand at school. An asthma attack that goes unnoticed can be life-threatening. So having an asthma action plan in place is crucial. A child may be unable to explain their asthma symptoms A child may not be able to communicate that they are struggling with their asthma. Teachers must be able to recognize asthma symptoms and know how to follow an asthma action plan accordingly.

Solar energy i.e. energy derived from the sun can be converted into electrical energy using solar energy technologies like solar panels. As our non- renewable resources are set to decline in the years to come, it is important for us to move towards renewable sources of energy like wind, hydropower, biomass, and tidal. The main benefit of solar energy is that it can be easily deployed by users as it does not require any huge and massive setup like in case of wind or geothermal power. In our campus, solar panels have been installed recently in order to meet our daily electricity needs. We aim to produce 80units of electricity daily. Storage and distribution of electricity is under process. We installed 20 kW solar power system here. Energy from the sun in the form of solar radiation to generate electricity. The excess amount of energy that we can produce after meeting our daily need can be delivered to KSEBL (Kerala State Electricity Board Limited) through the grid, the program is under progress. About 5000 trillion kW/year energy is incident over India’s land area. Most of the parts are receiving 4-7 kW/m2/ day. 1% of the land area is sufficient to meet electricity needs of India 2031. (200 – 300 clear sunny days in a year.)
Wastewater treatment, also called sewage treatment, is the removal of impurities from wastewater. Distinction between clean water and polluted water depends on the type and concentration of impurities found in the water as well as on its intended use. In broad terms, water is said to be polluted when it contains enough impurities to make it unfit for use. Here in our school the pipe water after usage is recycled for irrigation purposes.
Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is the collection and storage of rain, rather than allowing it to run off. Rainwater is collected from a roof-like surface and redirected to a tank, cistern, deep pit (well, shaft, or borehole), aquifer, or a reservoir with percolation, so that it seeps down and restores the ground water. Rainwater harvesting differs from storm water harvesting as the runoff is collected from roofs, rather than creeks, drains, roads, or any other land surfaces. Its uses include watering gardens, livestock irrigation, domestic use with proper treatment, and domestic heating. The harvested water can also be committed to longer-term storage or groundwater recharge.
Pets bring increased sensitivity and awareness of the feelings and needs of others--both animals and humans. To prove the words of researchers and to help our children build empathy, responsibility and life skills in themselves, our 'Wonder Park' is all set with rabbits, birds and other pets
Paper recycling is the process of collecting waste paper from distinct areas, reprocessing the paper bits and converting them into new useful paper products. This helps in the reduction of large amount of paper waste generated in the school campus i.e. from various classrooms and school office. Used Paper from classroom dust bins, staffrooms, offices etc. are collected for recycling and converted into new chart papers and paper bags. The recycled paper bits are used to fill the grow bags where 50% of the grow bag is filled with these bits before filling them with soil. The benefit of this process is that it completely reduces the need of burning waste paper. The paper bits would never be dumped or burnt in open spaces thereby reducing pollution. Students would be inspired by this by which they could use this technique even at home since the process leading this technique is quite simple.
The Biodiversity Park is one of the other innovations aimed at bringing the students more closer to Mother Nature. The park also features an artificial eco system that provides shelter for a number of faunas. In addition to this we also have an aquarium. A dedicated space for the protection of indigenous birds is also a remarkable feature. A butterfly park is maintained to preserve the exotic butterflies of the Western Ghats.
Fruit trees are a logical, and sweet, extension of school gardens. Not only can they provide an abundant source of nutrient-rich food for students and cafeterias, they can also stand for years as the centrepiece of a living ecology classroom. This document provides information on factors to consider before trees are planted, including school approval, choosing and preparing a planting site, and selecting varieties best suited for schools.
Aquariums in schools have been proven to provide a calming atmosphere for people and studies have found that there is a loss of tension when a bit of our time is spent watching fishes. Nurturing an aquarium increases the skills of responsibility and teamwork in the students. They understand the importance of being compassionate to other creatures and also the need to preserve nature.
Cycling significantly reduces congestion around school and improve safety of children. The benefits of using bicycle are zero fuel consumption and zero carbon emphasis is laid on the need of making our school a pollution free environment. 'Pedal Force ‘club is formed to educate the students on the advantages of using bicycle in their day to day life.
Butterfly Park established in our school yard helps to establish or maintain a healthy ecosystem in our area. Butterfly gardens are not only important for our local schoolyard habitat but they can increase student engagement and curiosity in the classroom. By planting a butterfly garden we have created an interactive classroom for our children to be engaged in the natural world. This outdoor classroom can be a tool to incorporate hands-on activities for every subject. Many students do not spend their time outdoors; providing them a garden can give them an opportunity to be outside and interact with nature. By planting a garden in our school after school program our children will develop a connection with the outdoors from an early age. This enriching experience for children will be something that they will keep with them for the rest of their lives. It is important to educate our students, school, and community about the importance of planting native gardens which will help to create more gardens around your community. The more gardens you plants, the healthier your area’s ecosystem will be.
Organic farming relies on fertilizers of organic origin such as compost manure, green manure, etc. For instance, naturally occurring pesticides such as pyrethrum and rotenone are permitted while synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are generally prohibited. Reasons for avocation of organic farming include advantages in sustainability, openness, self-sufficiency, independent, health, food security and food safety. In our campus we have a farming area where we grow different kinds of vegetables and plants. The farm products are used in our school. Our student representatives and club members show keen interest in developing various plantations here. Compost manure obtained from decomposition of organic waste is used as the fertilizer here instead of chemical fertilizers. In addition to this we have more than 300 grow bags which we use to cultivate different kinds of vegetables.
